Anonymous is a loosely associated network of hacktivists. A website associated with the group describes it as “an internet gathering” with “a very loose and decentralized command structure that operates on ideas rather than directives”. The group became known for a series of well-publicized hacks and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on government, religious, and corporate websites.
Ariel Castro accused of prison and torture for over a decade, three women at his home in Cleveland, was sentenced to life in prison without the right to apply for an exemption, and – what is symbolic – 1000 years in prison. During the hearings pictures of the house Castro were shown . They reveal the terrible conditions in which for many years these women have been kept.
The National Insitutes of Health estimate obsesity is the second leading cause of preventable death in the United States and it is suggested that by 2030 over 40 percent of the population will be clinically obese. It is a problem that costs the US healthcare system nearly $150bn a year. The issue is not lacking in national attention.
