Photographs of the Berlin Wall from 1989 by Greg Girard (12 pictures)

These photographs were made on Greg’s first trip to Berlin in Oct 1989. He has seen photographs of the Berlin Wall, but he wanted to make his own pictures of it, preferably at night. For decades the wall had been a feature of the Berlin landscape, but for a visitor it was breathtaking to experience first hand the ultimate symbol and full reality of that divided city.

‘The Art of War’ broken down into a 10 minute video

The Art of War was written nearly 4000 years ago, by Sun Tzu, a high ranking Chinese general. The book was created as a military strategy guide, but has found it’s place in contemporary life by the likes of businessmen, lawyers, sports coaches and teachers. Sun Tzu’s teachings have found success in the workforce of these modern day strategists, applying the same methods of the book to the mental wars of the classroom and conference rooms, because a majority of the book is a guide on how to be competitive and victories without causing serious conflict, an issue the modern day worker has to deal with on a daily basis.

50th anniversary of the March on Washington (18 pictures + “I have a dream” speech)

The Great March on Washington was one of the largest political rallies for human rights in United States history and called for civil and economic rights for African Americans. It took place in Washington, D.C. Wednesday, August 28, 1963 – 50 years ago today. Martin Luther King, Jr., standing in front of the Lincoln Memorial, delivered his historic “I Have a Dream” speech advocating racial harmony during the march and it is still considered to be, arguably, the greatest speech in American history for helping to pass the Civil Rights Act (1964) and the Voting Rights Act (1965).
