Spirit of Tatra Mountains by Jakub Polomski (18 pictures)
Jakub Polomski was born in 1985 in Cieszyn, Poland. Inspired by photos he saw in an issue of National Geographic, he borrowed a DSLR from a friend and began to work. His adventures with photography started by capturing landscapes, photojournalism, and street and sport photography. Since 2007 Jakub has been awarded many prizes and commendations in various photography contests. At the end of 2010 he was awarded first prize in a photography competition organized by the ‘Kinder’ brand. The prize was full of wonderful experiences, including a short trip to Argentina (Patagonia and Buenos Aires). However, by far the most important prize for Jakub has been the first prize National Geographic Poland statuette, awarded in 2010 for the “Polish Landscape” category. His works can be viewed on digart.pl, 1x.com and Behance.net.

The Tatra Mountains are a mountain range that form a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. They are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains. The Tatras should be distinguished from the Low Tatras, Slovak: Nízke Tatry, which are located south of the Tatra mountains in Slovakia. Sometimes, however, the term Tatras is used for either or both ranges.
The Tatras are protected by law by the establishment of TPN and TANAP in their territory, with membership in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves of UNESCO.[source]
