According to the Clemson Vehicular Electronics Laboratory, the average airbag deploys in approximately 0.05 seconds at 200 mph.

To demonstrate just how fast that really is, the Slow Mo Guys tested an airbag under the lens of a super slow motion camera, filming at 2,500 frames per second.
