Giant Rubber Duck Floats into Taiwan (11 pictures)

Florentijn Hofman’s world-famous, larger than life Rubber Duck floated into the harbour of Kaohsiung, Taiwan last week, attracting over 200,000 spectators in a single day and over half a million in 72 hours.

The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn’t discriminate people and doesn’t have a political connotation. The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them.

The 18 meter (59 ft) tall inflatable rubber duck weighs over 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs). On display until October 20, 2013, the spectacle is expected to lure more than 3 million visitors. For more info, visit the official Rubber Duck Taiwan Tour website.

Since 2007, Hofman’s giant inflatable rubber ducks have visited 15 cities around the world, including Amsterdam, Sydney and Hong Kong.
