Monkey Brainpower

Monkeys can operate a robotic prosthetic arm with their thoughts — especially when food is on the line. This is the first time they’ve manipulated a physical object in real-world scenarios, using the prosthetic arms to feed themselves. Previous research trained monkeys to move a cursor on a screen using an electrode implanted in their brains. Video courtesy of Andrew Schwartz, Meel Velliste, Sagi Perel, M.
