People Think Matt Damon’s “The Martian” Is Based on a True Story

Is “The Martian” based on a true story? Is Matt Damon stuck on Mars? There are people out there who seem to think so.

For most of us, we’re well aware of how this film is a fictional portrayal of a scientific possibility as opposed to a film based on fact and/or a documentary of an actual trip to Mars. Some people, however, don’t know that.
