Michelle Obama’s #BringBackOurGirls Pic Turned Into An Anti-Drone Campaign

The whole world looked recently towards Nigeria. All through the kidnapping of over the hundreds of girls from the local school, by the Islamist military group Boko Haram (tied to al-Qaeda). This is not the first time the militant group has targeted students; in February it burnt down a school, leaving 29 boys dead, and last September it killed more than 40 at an agricultural college. There is a specific logic to it beyond garnering the international attention.

Many countries have offered their help to Nigeria. Among them is president Barack Obama who offered sending american team to support the government’s response to the kidnapping.

Last week, Michelle Obama joined the campaign to #BringBackOurGirls. In responce people used this image to expressing criticism. Many are asking: What about child victims of U.S. drone strikes?

More recently, a similar social campaign failure surprised the NYPD.
