Week Of Groceries From Around The World

Our groceries say a lot about us, our habits, tastes and social class. Not every diet suits all, and there are sure many ways to maintain (or ruin) your health, simply by making everyday choices. On the contrary, sometimes it’s about not having a choice at all. The huge discrepancy between ‘First World’ developed countries and presented below Chad or Mali just screams unjustice. Even distribution of wealth was always an utopian vision. However, as long as minority consumes most of resources, there is no way we will come even remotely close to such an idealistic concept.

Photojournalist Peter Menzel launched a fascinating photo essay on how a week’s worth of groceries looks like around the world. It does put our shopping carts in a perspective!
