Black and White Pictures of 1980’s New York: by Richard Sandler

Big Apple, Gotham City. New York is fascinating, fast-paced, dangerous and beautiful. This is one of those cities you can just get lost in, feel anonymous, trapped and free at the same time.

Richard Sandler took pictures that  now tell a fascinating story of a gritty, graffiti-strewn city that just 20 years later would be in the thrall of gentrification.
‘You are recording your time,’ Sandler told ‘Mail Online’ ‘You are looking for trends. If you are in the street, you see it. You see everything on the street.’
