North Korea from 1979 to 1987 (35 pictures)
We present you a selection of archival photographs of one of the most closed countries in the world – the Korean People’s Democratic Republic. The photos were made in the period from 1979 to 1987, by Japanese photojournalist Hiroji Kubota, a member of the Magnum agency. He traveled all over the Asian region and tried to show it as it is. His work – very honest and interesting, do not chase after sensation. And despite the fact that many years have passed from the time these pictures were taken, look at them very curiously, they explain in detail the world that the author wanted to show us. Real, 100%, journalism.
