A Cloud Illuminated By Lightning

While on a diving trip in the Grand Cayman Islands this past September, photographer Mike Jones captured this incredible lightning storm illuminating a storm cloud. Featured last week in The Telegraph’s ‘Pictures of the Day‘ gallery, Jones explained:

“I chose this piece of the horizon and after getting the focus and settings the way I wanted, took about eight to ten 30 second exposures to try and capture the light. This picture was a single event and even though it happened quickly, I knew I had got it.”
