Dolphins Get High On Pufferfish

Once attacked, pufferfish secretes tetraodontidae, a potent neurotoxin. And even though it could be lethal, in small doses it seems to have a relaxing and psychoactive effect.


Dolphins figured it out and grew to like this dizzy feeling. On the video below you can see they pass it on from one to another, sharing the drug and playing with it. Poor fish!

It is kind of hilarious, given the fact that they are apparently baked like a cake.
