New Stunning Photos From the Surface of Mars (9 pictures)
It’s been over 10 years since the Spirt & Opportunity Rovers have touched down on Mars and in that span have exceeded exploration expectations of traveling 2/3 of a mile during a primary mission of 90 Martian days. Spirit traveled 4.8 miles over more than six years and Opportunity has traveled more than 23.6 miles over an ongoing mission that has reached 10 years.
The Smithsonian has taken 50 of the best photos from the extensive mission catalogue and will be on display in honor of the 10 Year Anniversary.
